Good Evening Friends!
The Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland may have a new slogan. How about the Happiest Place for a Family Brawl? Or something like that. There’s more on that and zombie sharks in Mishegoss! Good & Bad.
Today we posted a special on earthquakes. I know there has been a ton in the news about these last two, but for a guy who is from the east coast and has only been in the middle of one earthquake once in the 80’s when on a visit I thought it was relative to my survival and others who have just moved here. I’ve handled tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, and ice storms, but nothing like this.
There’s a group of 60 or more artists who have banded together to use charcoal from the Woolsey and Camp fires and create artwork with paint made from the charcoal of the fires. Their artwork is for sale or you can bid on some of the work. Please check it out. It’s all for a great cause.
On a personal note…
Back in 2000 after renovating a home in New York, just before moving here, my house exploded one evening. It was the weekend after moving in, and I took a little time away. When I came home, I found my house had vanished into a massive hole beneath it after an explosion. The gas main under the home erupted and took my hose and the houses on each side. Needless to say, when I saw the article about gas wells under some homes here in California, I was interested and thought it should be in our newsletter. It is in the Around California section.
Enjoy tonight’s newsletter, and we will see you on Thursday as always. We’re back to a regular schedule for the rest of the summer. At least that’s what we’re planning right now. Summertime brings changes when you least expect them. Like a trip to the coast!!!
